Board Meetings

Meetings are held at 6:00 PM on the second Monday of each month at the DGID office.
If you wish to address the Board, please email the office at least one week prior to the meeting.

Payments may be dropped off 24/7 using the mail slot at Dalton Gardens City Hall.

Encroachment Permits

An Encroachment Permit is required for all berms, trees, and any fence within the District easements.

Builders / Contractors / Landscapers

A Variance Encroachment Permit is required for any permanent structure located within DGID easements.

Fence Companies

Please locate DGID mains using the map below.
If an Encroachment Permit is required, obtain one using the links at the bottom of the page.


Easements

Do not construct, place, or plant anything within 20 feet on either side of irrigation mains without written approval from DGID.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Buildings
  • Swimming pools
  • Patios
  • Berms
  • Fences
  • Trees & shrubs

According to DGID By-Laws, property owners are responsible for removal of anything built or planted over irrigation mains or within easements.


Property Owners

  • If you or your neighbor has a leak, close the valve at the weir/standpipe.
  • Use stainless steel or galvanized parts only.
  • Maximum nozzle size: 1/2 inch.

Winter Operation

  • After all personal lines on your standpipe are blown out, open all valves at the standpipe to help prevent breaks.
  • A notice will be posted here when the irrigation water is turned off.

Booster Pumps

No booster pumps allowed.

Water Schedule

Water is typically available 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with seasonal daylight adjustments.
Please set timers appropriately.

Blow-Out Reminders

  • Do not schedule system blow-outs until after the official turnoff date.
  • Close your valve after all users on your standpipe have blown out their lines.
  • Re-open before hard freeze conditions.

Watering Guidelines

Address Schedule

Even addresses (ending in 0,2,4,6,8):
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday

Odd addresses (ending in 1,3,5,7,9):
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday

Hand watering and drip systems, are allowed any day.


 

General Watering Tips

  • Adjust sprinklers to avoid watering streets.
  • Be considerate of neighbors.
  • Water only on your scheduled days.

Field Watering (2–3 inch aluminum pipe)

  • Normal temps: Twice per week
  • Hot temps: Every other day


Automatic Sprinkler Systems

  • Water 30–45 minutes, once a day, every other day.
  • During hot weather: Morning & evening cycles.
  • End last station one hour before sunset to reduce fungus and disease.

Lawn Care

  • During first and last mowing of the season, collect clippings.
  • Highest mower setting produces the greenest lawn in hot weather.
  • Taller stems retain more moisture.

New Grass

Contact the office to report newly planted grass.
Suggested watering schedule:

  • 10–15 minutes, 3–5 times/day for 3–4 weeks (weather dependent)
  • Then once daily for 2–3 more weeks until established
